Just curious...I read about many women that chart their temps when TTC. What is the reasoning behind that? I understand your temp goes up when you o, but does it stay up then if you conceive? Or, does it drop and then go up again before AF? Again, just passing the time and wondering. Thanks
Hey Jodie...Your temps are usually lower prior to ovulation. Some people even dip a little bit on day of ovulation. Then temps start to rise after ovulation and drop again when AF starts (usually). If you are pregnant, your temps should stay high for 18 days in a row (thus avoiding buying all those HPT's before the 18 days are past). This is according to TCOYF. I've heard sometimes temps can stay elevated for other reasons, but I don't think that is too common! Hope that helps! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif">
It's low in the beginning, dips even lower (for one day) when you O and rises up high after O. If it stays high for 18 DPO, you are most likely pregnant. I am 19 DPO with high temps and still don't know (need to test).
