Hi, I took a preg. test and it came back negitive. I took the test about two weeks after my period, is it still acurate or do you have to take it during your period or can you take a test at any time during the month and get acurate results? I didn't miss any of my periods, they were all on time. I just wanted to make sure everything was in order. So is the test still acurate...I wasn't trying to get pregnant or anything.
Thank you for your replies<p>[This message has been edited by blondie2001 (edited 01-15-2002).]
Well it depends on when you think your conception date was. If you had sex during your period and you are trying to find out if you got pregnant. You need to wait between 17 and 20 days after the sex to get accurate results. Or you can wait for your next period and see if it is late or unusual and then take a test.
It just depends on when you had sex that might have gotten you pregnant and then you go from there on when to test.
Usually you will take the pregnancy test about 2 weeks after ovulation which occurs about the 14th day from the start of your period (if you have a 28 day cycle). To figure out about when you ovulate, figure out the length of your cycle. If it's 40 days (longer than average) then you will probably ovulate about day 26 of that cycle (2 weeks prior to your next period). Anyway, I think this might be a little confusing, but just remember, most tests are accurate when taken the first day of your missed period, so it's best to wait until then. Good luck to you.
