Hello! Quick question.
I'm finally able to feel the little one moving about inside me (currently 17 weeks) and ohhhh how wonderful it is. How long will it be until daddy will be able to feel the movements through my belly? This is our first baby, so we have no idea, but would like to hear other parents' experiences with this.
Thanks in advance!
That is going to vary. Like with my hubby with our first I think it was around 22 to 23 weeks for my hubby even though I had been feeling it for several weeks by then. With our second for some reason it was later. Though I have to say our second wasnt as much of a mover has his big brother was. My brother just felt his baby a couple weeks ago and at that time his wife was 25 weeks then.
My hubby could feel the movements about a week (maybe 2) after I noticed it. My baby tends to actually KICK though, not too much squirming. She makes my belly jump and its too funny to watch. So she delivered some pretty solid blows to my hubby's hand.
I think it's different for everyone cuz my husband couldn't really fell much of anything for almost my whole pregnancy. I could feel a lot but she wasn't a performer so whenever my husband put his hand on my tummy she would stop. He got pretty upset over this but once I was about seven months he could see it moving around and kicking.
It's kind of funny for the past three weeks or so everytime anyone gets near my tummy he gives one hell of a kick. It's like he knows that someone's there. My daughter's gotten quite a few good ones when she has climbed up on my lap (amazing that I still have room for her)
I think it depends on the baby and how active he/she is. My hubby felt the baby for the first time at about 20 weeks. All I can say for sure is the you will know when other people will be able to feel it. Baby's can kick you harder than you probably ever thought, even when they're little.
When you do think he will be able to feel the baby, even just a little, do this. First tell him that if he feels anything, it is probably the baby (you'll be able to tell him anyway), because all of your intestines have been pushed behind your uteris (so no, that is not gas dear, that is a baby! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bouncing.gif"> ). Then, lie on your back comfortably, and wait! It could take a while, but if your hubby is anything like mine, he will wait as long as it takes, and cry like hell when it finally happens.
Hi! I am on week 20, and my hubby has been feeling light taps on the outside for occasionally for about the past week. It is different for everyone...depending on how active the little one is and how big they are in comparison to you. I am sure that if you are feeling it wiggle about, it won't be too much longer before hubby will feel it too!
