I have stopped my Lo-Estrin pills not quite a month ago to TTC. Still no AF, but I have so many symptoms that I had with my first pregnancy - nausea, sensitive BBs, lower abdomen cramps (not my usual period kind), tiredness etc. - has anyone else experienced this when coming off BCP? I took an HPT but its negative <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif"> so I guess what I am trying to find out is if these are just symptoms of coming off the Pill, but I cannot find any info on this anywhere. (Truly hoping I am Pg and just too early to test.....) Thanks for any replies....
Js, I have a friend that went off bcp and got pg immediately! I mean like 2 weeks after her last pill she O and got pg! A lot of people can't believe she got pg that fast, but some people must be really fertile! You could definately be pg and I'd treat it like that until you can confirm with a blood test.
Also, when I've gone off the pill, my side effects are some cramping and tenderness in the abdomin. Also, maybe a little spotting. But those symptoms are short-lived. I definately wasn't tired or sick feeling. I have a harder time going on the pill (with side effects) then going off it.
Thank you for your reply. I FEEL pg, but we all know that could be wishful thinking. The negative HPT was 2 days ago, and its a >20HcG so I was pretty sure it was right, but I will test again tomorrow I guess. What I can't find at all is any kind of info on side effects/symptoms of going off the Pill. I know for me last time was no symptoms at all. AGGGH the wondering is killing me. Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I got off the bcp and during my first cycle off I got pg!!! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif"> So it is entirely possible you are pg!!! It is probably just a bit to soon to test. Remind me how late for AF are you? Plus getting off the bcp may throw your cycle a little out of wack. Were you pretty reg. before the bcp?

Hi there - I stopped my pills on Jan 15, and I've been on them so long I can't remember much of how long my cycle was before, but seems to me it was around 28 days and pretty regular. I haven't had any bleeding at all other than a tiny bit of spotting about 4 days after going off.
I am living in Germany, so I'm not sure if you really want the HPT info, but I think it was called "Swanger?" (German for pregnant). It says you can test 1 week before FA is due and the sensitivity is 20Hcg. I can't even figure out WHEN I should test given I haven't even had a real period in God knows how long?

You sound alot like myself. I got off my BCP on Jan 8, 2003 and 2 days after I got off of them, I spotted a little. That was it. That was on the 10th of Jan. I wasn't due for my AF until Jan 15 according to my pill pack. I guess my body was screaming for help and wanted a break from the pills!!! I believe I'm going to wait to see if I get AF. I'm going to give it until next week. If I don't get it after the 15th, I will definitely test. I don't believe I'm pregnant because I've been cramping and having the AF symptoms. You said you had AF cramps when you were pregnant before, how can I tell the difference between AF and Pregnant cramps? Were your ovaries sore? Thanks.
Me too! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bouncing.gif"> My last visit (AF - in case you all don't recall since there are so many posts everywehere) was January 7th, I stopped taking my BCP back in August of 2002, I was skipping every other month after September. So hopefully this is it...I can't hardly wait until tomorrow to test, silly I know, but what does everyone else think? Just in case, here's a little background for ya'll:
I have nausea (especially mid day and in the evenings)
Quite tired a lot
Uncomfortable cramps in my tummy every so often
Really heavy or full kind of feeling in lower tummy
My pee is quite strong smelling -sorry L I don’t mean to be gross (does that have anything to do with it?
Very hormonal
But see, mostly everything happens like this when AF is coming except my BB's aren't sore? HUMMMMM???
I have a First Response HPT at home, should I take it this evening or should I wait until tomorrow? I’m getting anxious as all heck!!!!!!!! Please respond someone....

Has ANYONE ever had this, or any side effects of going off the Pill? Seems to me I never experienced any kind of effect when I went off last time, that is what is so baffling to me.
As far as the difference in the cramps go, these were lower down than my AF cramps, and more of discomfort rather than OUCH pain. Kind of like if you have ever had to wait really long to go pee, and eventually you feel that crampy discomfort. Sorry if that is TMI !
I know it's too soon to feel sorry for myself since I just went off but man, I was SO SURE.....
