swelling of the vagina when pregnant

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and it's been a while but I'm just ignoring it... but it's starting to bother me that my vaginal is all swelling up. Does anyone has the same problem as I am or should I consult it to my doctor?

I may be wrong, but I think this is a symptom of pregnancy. I hope you are not in pain. Either way, anytime you have a conern while pregnant, I would recommend that you ask your doctor always. At least they can provide some reassurance! Good luck

yep. completely normal, due to increased blood flow to the area.

Re: swelling of the vagina when pregnant

Hi! I am from Montreal too!

That said, yes it is normal for your vagina to be swollen. I am pregnant with my third right now (8 weeks 5 days). My vagina was swollen too when I was pregnant with my other two children. My hubby even noticed it because I was more...ahemm....tight (sorry if TMI!)

So, stop worrying, you are fine. It is due to the increase blood flow. Sometimes your labia will even get a little darker when pregnant. There's nothing to be worried about. Enjoy your pregnancy! Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? I can't wait to find out, but I have to wait until the end of april for my ultrasound.

Good luck!

Yes, we are! It's the first time I meet someone from Montreal on this board. Congratulations on your little boy! I have two daughters (ages 4 and 5) and I really would like to have a boy this time. I guess I will have to wait and see!

I hope you'll hang around, this board is great and all the ladies here are so sweet and helpful.

If you have any other questions or worries, or you just need to vent, this is the place! You will find support, help and understanding here.

I wish you an easy delivery!

Re: swelling of the vagina when pregnant

Is it swelling that you are feeling oe SEEing. I personally feel throbbing as if it were swelling but it isn't sctually swelling. So I just asked this guy I am close enough to ask personal questions and he said that, in fact, he noticed that during his wife's pregnancy that she did appear swollen "down there". So from my little question and answer session came the fact that the vaginal and/or labia area can become swollen in appearance as well as feeling swollen. Isn't that great! Just great. Why is it that everything and now we know EVERYTHING swells when you're pregnant, but your brain shrinks?
