I am so lost here.
Here's the deal: In the whole 18 years that I've had my period, only once have I been a week late (October - stress) and once have I been a week early (December - had the flu). Otherwise I'm on a 28 day schedule like clockwork.
I had sex on the 15th of this month. On the 17th and 18th I spotted. Then I stopped for two days. Then I spotted again. And when I say "spotted" I mean that it was clear light pink - sometimes light brown - only when I wiped and never anything significant. Not even enough to spot my panties.
After two days of that, I got a little heavier flow but not like my regular periods. But that only lasted for two days too. Now I've stopped completely. What's odd is that if this is my period (an odd one at that), then I'm another whole week early. I was supposed to start today. I took a pregnancy test first thing this morning and it came up negative. Does anyone think pregnancy could still be possible?
I do belive it takes about two weeks for a positive result to show up on a pregnancy test. You can also get a period or two after conception so your best bet is to hold out a few more days and then take another test. You really should go to your doctor too for verification, those at home tests have been known on occasion to be wrong.
Good Luck

I bought a 3pk of HPT's at Costco (GREAT deal - $8.89). I've got one left and I'm gonna wait till after the 5th to use it - which will be 20 days since possible conception. I'm still very lightly spotting every once in a while. Which means if this is an actual period and I'm counting every day since I first started spotting, then it's lasted 10 days. I think something is definitely not right.
Oh... when I went to buy the HPT's and the pharmacist asst. rang them up, she looked at the box and said to me "Soooo you think you might be, eh??"
I think I gave her the look of death. I thought it was horribly rude of her to ask me something that is none of her business. Her job is just to ring up my purchases - not to ask why I'm using them!
After she saw the look on my face, she started apologizing profusely. I just wanted her to finish ringing me up and not say anything else.
But she HAD to say one last thing...
"Would it be totally unorthodox of me to say that I hope you're NOT pregnant?"
Geezus. *rolling eyes*
Sorry for ranting - maybe this is a sign of pregnancy and my hormones flaring up.
Gee, what is up with those pharmacy tech's? Did we ask for their opinion? Anyways the last hpt that I bought, the same type of thing was said to me. "Well I hope you get the result your looking for, which ever one that may be." Well gee thanks....this is definately a moment that I do NOT want to share with you! I would have been happy either way, but it's none of her business. I don't expect them to say: "I hope these condoms prevent whatever you may be trying to prevent."
Sorry, I just had to share too, hope you got a chuckle at least.
This reminded me of a funny story. To work my way through medical school, I worked in a pharmacy. There were no pharmacy techs then and no computers. I would take the prescriptions and give them to the pharmacist and update the patients info cards.
One day a man asked me where the prophylactics were. Not knowing what a prophylactics was and the pharmacist being way off in the back room eating lunch, I proceeded to yell clear across the back room,
"WHERE ARE THE PROPHYLACTICS?"
The pharmacist yelled back, "RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU".
All I seen right in front of me was a rack of condoms and one red faced customer.
