How soon - or late - can implantation bleeding occur? I had sex on Wed, and then on Friday night I got a smear of blood, followed by really light clearish-pink spotting yesterday. I had cramps like I was going to start my period, but that alarmed me cos I'm not due for it till next Sunday the 26th. Today - Sunday - I have nothing and the cramps have disappeared. If my calculations are right, I wouldn't have been ovulating at the time I had sex, so conception doesn't seem possible. BUT! my period was a week early last month, so who knows when I could be ovulating right?

I hate to say that I don't want to be pregnant cos I know so many women on here are trying. But I'm really scared. To top it off, I spotted the guy that I'm involved with, out with another girl last night. I am devestated. I don't know what I would do if I had to tell him I was pregnant.
Should I be worried?

Well there is always a chance of pregnancy when one is having sex whether one likes it or not.
It could be from implantation bleeeding or it could be just bleeding from you ovulating. Some women will have a spot or two when they ovulate along with cramping. There is no way to tell for sure just yet. So you need to relax and just wait until you can take a test. Since you said your period is due on the 26th then just wiat until then and take a test then to see what is going on.

Thanks - you're right. All I can do is wait till next week. I can usually tell when I'm ovulating and it didn't feel like this, nor have I ever spotted because of it before. But anything is possible.

Implantation bleeding is when the fertilized egg buries itself in the uterus, causing some spotting and cramping. Typically this happens (so I've heard) within a few days after conception.

Side note: I started bleeding again last night after stopping on Saturday. Still just light spotting. Today I feel a little more crampy. More like my period is gonna start. But I still have yet to have a real flow. My period isn't scheduled to start until Sunday so this all feels odd to me. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to take a HPT next week even if I do have what seems to be a period? That question seems to be on here a lot lately...

First you have to understand it doesnt happen with all women. But implantation bleeding is when a fertilized egg attaches to the wall of the uterus. Sometimes when the egg attaches it will cause some spotting of blood to occur either when wiping or on the underwear.
