Hair Coloring??

Hi everyone. I was just wondering what other people think about the safety of coloring your hair during pregnancy. I used to think it was dangerous, then my dad's friend who is an OBGYN told my mom that they really don't believe it to be dangerous anymore. Do any of you ladies color your hair? I do and I really would like to touch it up. Thanks for your replies.

Re: Hair Coloring??

Molly I colored my hair with my son and my doc said it was fine. The worst thing that might happen is the fumes will make you feel icky...but only in the first trimester. The one thing I did do is I had my stylist match my roots so I wouldn't have to keep dying it...going for a more natural color with maybe highlights is good...b/c your hair grows so fast while you are preg. You will need a touch up in 2 or 3 weeks if your color is real far from your natural color. That's just what I have noticed!!

Re: Hair Coloring??

I have colored my hair with my current and last pregnancies. My son is healthy and according to my u/s this baby is as well. I believe it is a personal decision however, I know many people who have done it and no problems. My opinion is go ahead.

Re: Hair Coloring??

The only time you want to avoid hair coloring is in the first trimester. Other than that, color away! I do. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif">
