Someone, preferably a doctor, please tell me what the odds are of getting pregnant the first of day of starting my period. We used a condom but it slipped off!
Well the chances are slim but there is always a chance of pregnancy no matter where you are in your cycle.
IT is very slim. You can do one of two things: not worry and wait about 20 days after this accident and take a home pregnancy test. OR you can go to a planned parenthood or women's health clinic and get Emergency Contraception. It has to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex and it works to prevent pregnancy.

Jennifer no one can be exact because no one can tell you exactly when you will ovulate again. You see when you have a period you are starting a new cycle and if that cycle is off you could very easily ovulate during your period and hence an egg could be present during the end of your period. Or if you cycle is regualr then you could ovulate between days 12 through 20 of your cycle. YOu can never truly count on a safe time to have sex unless you are charting your temps,cervical mucus,and days to know when you are ovulating. And trust me that is best used to help one get pregnant not avoid it.
The only safe way to avoid pregnancy is simply be on a form of birth control and make your partner use a condom before his penis is anywhere near your vagina. But even that isnt 100% effective in preveting pregnancy. It is just somethig you have to be willing to understand and eal with if an unplanned pregnancy should occur.
Ok thanks, If your period occurs AROUND the same time every month but not nessicarly the same date would you consider that normal? would it be to my advantage to mark when i begin and end my period on a calender?
