Question LOW BLOOD PRESSURE?HELP??

HI, I AM 31 WEEKS ALONG AND I WENT TO THE DOC YESTERDAY AND MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS 91/49. THAT IS VERY LOW. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS AND MY DOC DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BEING A CONCERN. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAS BLOOD PRESSURE THIS LOW DURING THEIR PREGNANCY AND HOW CAN I BRING IT UP A LITTLE?

You didn't say whether or not you blood pressure runs high or low usually, so I am assuming that it runs higher. My blood pressure always runs low, about 90/40 sometimes even as low as 80/35. The Doc. and nurses just look at my chart and see that it usually does run low so they don't worry, however if yours is usually higher you may want to ask them about it. Were you sitting down for an extended period of time? Did you eat a long time before, certain things may naturally lower it, but I still would ask about it just to be safe. I do know however they may not be worrying so much because it is when it gets high that they may worry.

my wife, Valerie, has lower bp eachday esp in the morning. 90 over 60... the docs think that's fine and this way they can tell if it goes over normal 120 over 80 that something might be up with her or the baby. Walking or any mild exercise will bring it up temporarily, but as soon as you settle down it will lower again. I think you should be fine...Take care Chris

My blood pressure is also normally low. I'd say you are not really "LOW", but at the low end of normal. I think you are okay, unless you normally have higher blood pressure. If you were reclining, or sitting for awhile, and quite relaxed, it is probably lower than it would have been a few minutes before. If it is concerning you, though, by all means give the Dr a call. They wouldn't want you to worry.

Karcia.

Hi! I too have low blood pressure normally, it's even been in the 80/40 range before I got pg. It's gotten a little higher since then, usually in the 100/70 range, but it's not been abnormal to get an occasional reading in the 90's. I really wouldn't worry about this too much. That's not dangerously low. You should be fine from my experience.
