I went for an ultrasound at ten weeks today (twelve since LMP). It was 166 two weeks ago and 177 today. The little guy was very active and my doc seemed fine but I just wondered what was norm for everyone else. Very new at this! My EDD is Nov 24th. Thank you.
no... at 11 weeks mine was 177. The doc said this is a very normal early heartrate. It will slowly drop off over the next few months, and settle in at between 120-160.
Oh, I also forgot to mention that the baby's heartrate can and will change in response to external stimulation, rest, or his own movements. I was on an external fetal monitor and my little boy was anywhere between 130 and 155. It was funny, because when he'd kick and move alot, his heartrate would increase rapidly. Then he'd start to chill out, and it would stay at a steady 135 or so.
I'm curious, at what week does the heartbeat begin? I'm in my fifth week, and I'm curious to know whether or not my little baby has a heartbeat yet. Haven't been in for my exam yet, but I was hoping someone here would know about when the heart starts beating?

Thanks for the info. It was reassuring. Most seem to be 140 -160. Who really knows. Sometimes it would just be easier to have one recipe for all babies.
Fortunately we have each other to talk to. I could hardly wait to get home and see what everyone else had to share. Again, thank you and best of luck to everyone!!!
