The only symptoms of a blighted ovum are usually no fetus detected by ultrasound or miscarriage. THe body often will continue to "think" it is pregnant for a few weeks and you would continue to have pregnancy symptoms.
Once the body realizes there is no baby, then a "miscarriage", or in this case, shedding of the uterine lining and empty embryo sac, happens.
