I'm not pg yet, but I was curious. I have pretty severe adult acne, but have been able to control it quite well with ProActiv. I always hear about women having acne flare ups during pregnancy, but have any of you pregnant mommies ever seen the reverse happen? Has pg ever cleared up your skin?
Just wondering.... Thanks!

I have had problems with my skin since my early twenties. Perfect skin in high school, and then all hell broke lose when I turned 21. I'm 18 weeks pregnant, and my skin was horrible during the first trimester. HORRIBLE. Around 12 weeks, it started to get a little better but I am by no means clear.
I am hoping I will eventually get the "pregnancy glow" that so many women claim to get. However, I'm almost 1/2 way through my pregnancy so I'm not getting my hopes up.
My skin used to be OK before PG but now it is a mess. I have never worn that much makeup before but I am becoming a pro at putting it on now. I am 10w6d and my skin really started to get bad at around 7w. I heard that some women this does not happen to. I think it is just a matter of genes and the luck of the draw. My skin has really gotten bad and I have broken out on my neck and shoulders as well. I am hoping that it will start to clear up in my next trimester.
First Trimester - Jr. High all over again. I had had at least one massive pimple all the time. These things were big and scary enough to have smaller pimple colonies established on or near them.
Second Trimester - Not too bad. Actually looked reasonable.
Third Trimester - All hell breaks loose. It's like the whole texture of my skin has changed. Not much in the way of pimples, but I've got strange rashes, weird bumps and flaky peeling skin. If I wasn't pregnant I'd be thinking leprosy or something else that could get me written up in a medical journal.
For some lucky people that aren't myself, yes! I have a friend who got flawless skin during pregnancy after having acne. I, however, had flawless skin before pregnancy, and since, it's been awful. It's gotten better the last month or so, though. But for about
5 1/2 months I had constant breakouts in really odd places. Places that aren't even oily. My skin is even a little on the dry side, for that matter. But from the bottoms of my cheek bones to my just below the corners of my mouth on both sides I have a mess.
