Question Surgery

I just found out that I am 6-8 weeks pregnant.I was already scheduled for a breast reduction on july 8th.I have no intentions of breast feeding, is there any harm in me having the procedure?I just found out about the baby so I have not had time to tell my doctor or my surgeon.I have chronic back pain.It was deemed medically necessary. Can it still be performed whil I'm pregnant?

You would not want to be put under any type of anesthetic during pregnancy unless it was absolutely necessary. Not to mention the pain killes you would need afterwards. I think your dr. will probably recommend that you wait untill aftet your baby is born.

Oh yeah, and since your breasts will be going thru many changes during pregnancy, I don't think a plasic surgeon would even attempt it now.

Hi. Besides being put under being a huge risk to the baby, you would not want to have this surgery being pregnant anyways. I had it when I was 18 and it is a rough surgery. Is it worth it? YES! However, you have to be careful afterwards for so long that you would be dealing with so much. It was not extremely painful (but it was painful) but it takes quite a while to get back to normal. Just make sure you have a lot of help after you do end up having it. I would postpone the surgery until well after your pregnancy. The only downside of this surgery is that here after 7 years, they are growing back! Good luck!
