| Applying for a Job While Pregnant
Hi everyone,
I'm almost 8 weeks along and working full time. I'm not really satisfied with my current employment, and have been casually looking for work for the past several months.
Well, I just came across a FABULOUS job that I would love to apply for - something I'm really qualified to do, and would enjoy. I think I would be a front-runner if I submit an application, but am concerned about my early pregnancy.
If I apply, do I tell them I'm pregnant? How do I bring that up? I know they are not allowed to discriminate against me because of my pregnancy, but of course what people think and do can be very different than what policy states.
Half of me really wants to apply, but the other half is concerned about starting a new job when I'll be in mat leave in about 7 months. I'm tempted to just suffer through the next half year at my existing job and worry about new work when I get back from leave. But this new job is really cool sounding...
What would you do?
