I'm pregnant!
Just had to tell somebody, lol!
I'm in my late 30s with two grown children.
I joined this board a few months ago, ironically, because I was having gynecological problems: constant bleeding, etc.
I had a D&C back in December... it turned out I had a cervical polyp and an endometrial polyp that were causing the bleeding. They were removed, and my symptoms ceased. I also have two fibroids, but the doctor said she wasn't worried about those, because they're very small.
Since then, my husband and I have been NTNP (not trying, not preventing), but I never really thought I'd get pregnant so easily at this age. And my husband's nearly 40- this is his first child!
Anyway, we're cautiously happy about this unexpected turn of events.
We're waiting awhile before we tell friends and family, because I've read that at my age, around 50% of pregnancies can end in early miscarriage.
If that happens, it's okay. I never really expected another child (frankly, I thought I was in perimenopause, what with all the gyno problems I've been having). I'll be very happy to have another child, but if this pregnancy doesn't work out, I'm not going to go out of my way to try and get pregnant again. You know what I mean?
My motto in life is: what you're meant to have won't pass you by.
So if this pregnancy doesn't work out, then clearly I wasn't meant to have another child.
Anyway, I'm bursting to tell
someone this news, and since we're waiting to tell our loved ones, I figured I'd post it here!
