Post Spotting after Orgasm

I am 5 weeks pregnant and today after sex I had bright red spotting. We never had intercourse, I just had an orgasm. It was only a little bit of blood and then later on I had a bit of brown spotting on my pantyliner. I also had cramps for a few hours afterwards. Is this normal? Do orgasms cause any harm to the growing fetus or can they cause miscarriage? What about intercourse. Is it dangerous in early pregnancy? Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this.

Thanks,

Jera

generaly sex is considered safe durring pregnancy. it is normal to have some cramping after orgasm. The bleeding i don't know tho, for you it may be completly normal, but just to be on the safe side you should not have orgasm's or sex untill your doctor says it's ok. Some women for whatever reason cannot have sex or orgasm durring pregnancy due to risks of miscarriage and/or preterm labour...so get an appointment to see your doctor asap and see what he/she has to say.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your comments. I went to the doctor this morning and she said that it could have been implantation spotting and during the orgasm the uterus could have expelled the blood during the contractions, but not to worry too much about it. I haven't had any spotting or cramping since....and she said everything looked normal in there, and that sex during pregnancy is not harmful at all, so I am feeling a lot better about it now, although now I don't think I will have sex or an orgasm for awhile just to be on the safe side & to keep my mind at ease! God knows I am turning into a basket case from worrying so much...I have to learn to relax & enjoy this pregnancy!!!

Thanks again for your replies.
