Post Itchey sore breasts.

My nipples have become so itchey and sore. Expecially on the left one and they have large bumps on them, which I presume is normal but one of the bumps had a hard head on it and hurt and itched worse. In my sleep I scratched the bump and it scratched off. My nipples also seem dry. I know every thing is probabley ok but dose any one know what is going on with my body?

Thumbs up

Eveything is okay. Just another symptom of pregnancy dear!

I had itchy dry breasts and stomach through my pregnancy, and all i could do is rub baby oil on them to prevent the dryness and therefore stop the itch. Try not to itch though, as the itchiness could be stretch marks forming and itching will make them worse. The baby oil will also prevent you getting them on your breasts and stomach (i didn't get any anyways).

Hope that helps you, and good luck for the birth if your bub!

Oh, i forgot to write about the bumps. They are probably milk pimples. If you squeeze them a tiny bit of milk may come out. They are completely normal and are there to draw your baby to the breast when it comes to feeding after they are born.

Hope that helps!

Usually the bumps are sweat ducts that become more prominent during pregnancy. Try not to use soap on your nipple area as it can dry them out even worse. The sweat ducts can get a little plugged and that is why you clould scratch the top off or squeeze something out of them. They do help to lubricate the areola while nursing also. It's all very normal.
