Question Pregnant Again?

I'm new here.. I just had a baby 7 weeks ago. My Fiance and I have had unprotected sex before my 6 week follow up. We were using the pull out method. I am aware that you can get pregnant by the pre-ejaculation. I didn't tell my Mid-Wife that we had already resumed intercourse. I spotted very lightly for 2 days prior my 6 week examine. The first day of spotting was brown (which I know is old blood) the second day it was very light pink. I assumed that was normal. My exam went great 'cept for my uterus was still a little large. I'm going on Wednesday (Sept. 10) for an Ultrasound to check on the two fibroids I have on my Uterus. The Midwife prescribed the Mini Pill beings I'm breastfeeding exclusively. I started them the first sunday after my exam. Which was 3 days later (Aug. 31). I wasn't taking them everytime at the right time. We continued to use the pull out method. On Sept. 6 I started bleeding which I thought was my period. Now I'm having second thoughts on that. I bled MAYBE a total of 2 tablespoons if that in 3 days. I'm now completely over it. It wasn't dark red, but however the first day it was brown then after it was bright red. My last known period was Nov. 2nd. Shouldn't I have had my period around the 2nd of this month if I was going to get it? Am I maybe pregnant? Oh, and with this "period" I have NO cramps. I'm just extremely gassy (which I was like that at the beginning of my pregnancy), I'm extremely tired as a matter of fact I went to bed this past friday at 10pm woke up at 9am and then I laid down again at 1pm and slept until 5pm. My newborn sleeps from 11pm til 7am everynight. So I don't think he's wearing me out. I feel like I'm getting plenty of sleep by the hours I'm sleeping. But my body is telling me more sleep more sleep. I'm eating until I'm miserable (I did that at the begining of my pregnancy until after delivery). I'm urinating more now then I did after having my son. I don't know if I'm exaggerating these symptoms or if they are truly there. I don't know if I should bother with a pregnancy test or just wait it out. I'm also having mood swings. Don't know if it's the mini pill or what. Well, this is long enough. If someone can give me a little input that would be great!

Well there is no true answer for you but to take a pregnancy test or get a blood test done.
It could be the pill or it could be pregnancy. The only way to find out is to take a test. Also with the mini pill you have to take it at the EXACT same time every day for it to be able to work correctly. Not takingit right increases your risk of getting pregnant again.
Either take a home test or see your doc for a blood test.

I have a 7 week old too and I started what I believed to be my period on Sept.3, but now I think it really began the 5th. I always kept spotting until then which I didn't do with my other 2 kids. We had sex too before 6 weeks, but with a condom. I know how you feel. It's so hard to tell if your pregnant because you just had a baby. So you sit there wondering and praying not. My advice is that you could have a wacky period because breastfeeding does that to your body. Take a pregnancy test. I was sheepishly honest about the sex to my midwife, yeah I felt dumb, but know that they are only there to guide you. She could answer you best, but I know the way you feel.

HI
I think I would get it checked out first take a preg test and if you are still in doubt see your doctor.
I know I would be anxious to know. Best of Luck!

Hello! I know from self exspereience that when you are breastfeeding your periods are wacky at first, some women donot even get their periods back while breastfeeding. I would take a test within a few weeks because your body still has to get rid of the pregnancy hormones and you could get a false positive. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. Ok Good Luck

Hi, If you are breestfeeding exclusively and your period hasn't resumed yet(light spotting when you should of had it doesn't count) Then your chances of getting pregnant are less than 1.1%. I just looked this up b/c I am going through the same thing as you. I remember thinking I was pregnant again around this time after I had my first child too. There is always that 1% chance.Good luck to me and to you.

Twila, thank you for searching that. I've been trying to look things up. I strongly believe what I've experienced was my period... I'm still quetioning the pregnancy thing, but i think my body is just playing tricks on me! I guess i will find out soon what's going on.

Thanks for your input,
Heidi

HI,

I am one of six children. My oldest brother was born March of 1966 and my oldest sister in Jan. of 1967. Only 10 months apart. My other sister was born Nov.1969 and I was born Oct. 1970. Only eleven months apart. (The other two were two years apart.)

My mom was breastfeeding when she concieved the children very close together.

So...it is very possible that you may be!

I would get a test or get some blood work done to be sure!

Keep us posted!
Tracey
