I had a tubal pregnancy in 2007 and my ultrasound revealed no embryo as well. However, my HCG level was still elevated as well as my pregnancy test was positive. Also, my physician has told me that sometimes when it's so early in the pregnancy, the embryo my be implanted in one of the folds or creases in the uterus which may make it hard to see on an ultrasound in the beginning. I would hope that if this was a tubal pregnancy that your physician would intervene quickly as this could be a life threatening situation. Hope everything works out for you!
