Several things to keep in mind:
1) Most parents believe their children are smarter than average. (And different children have different gifts, so in a way it might even be true.)
2) The plural of anecdote is not data. A child's intelligence is affected by so many things, I wouldn't call a few people's personal experience any type of evidence at all.
3) All that aside, fetal alcohol syndrome occurs when pregnant women drink a LOT. One glass of wine, in the third trimester after primary neurodevelopment, is unlikely to actually help your baby, but it probably won't do serious harm.
