Anybody have success with Doxycycline for epididymitis/prostatitis?

I had epididymitis in November. Took Cipro (which was strong!) and cleared up. Then problems returned in February. Urologist prescribed Cipro again, but I could not tolerate it -- I became very tired -- so it was discontinued. Symptoms have waxed and waned. I had a followup with the urologist and the epididymis is still tender so he prescribed doxycycline for 6 days (because I am allergic to sulpha). Has anybody had any experience with this medicine? Seems very strong (although not as bad as Cipro). I do not feel fatigued but do have a slightly upset stomach and a headache. Is this normal? Has anybody been successfully treated with this med?

I've had bouts with prosatitis several times. I prefer doxycyxcline over other antibiotics. I feel it is safer and more effective. Your doctor prescribed for six days? Do you mean 6 weeks? That would be more like it.
