| Re: Should I see doctor? Prostatitis?
Prostatitis alone is not much to worry about. It can be due to a passing infection or just some minor irritation. If you don't have any urinary flow problems and your pee is clear there is probably no problem. However, if you are over 50 years of age, your wife is right to be cautious and there is no harm in asking for a check-up. You probably know that this involves the doctor inserting a gloved finger to feel the prostate for lumps. He might also send you for an ultrasound scan (through the lower abdomen) and he might take a blood sample to test your PSA level (Prostate Specific Antigen).
If I were you, I would see the doc for peace of mind.
