Concern and some alarm about the size of my prostate
Hello all, this is my first post here.
At risk of comments being made that 'size doesn't matter', I am in the process of the cause being diagnosed, but I have a bladder infection and an enlarged prostate.
What concerns me is the size indicated by the scans I've had - 84 cc seems a little out of kilter with what I understand to be the 'norm' (if such a thing exists).
I've just turned 49.
I'm waiting on hearing back about my appointment with the specialist, but in the meantime, does 84 cc seem excessive (in the experience of others), or am I worrying a bit too much?
Re: Concern and some alarm about the size of my prostate
The prostate size in younger men is 20cc while it has been known to be as large as 150 cc in older men. Your size may have been enlarged by bacterial infection stemming from your bladder infection in which case a round of antibiotics may reduce the size of your prostate. Good luck.

Thank you, lenvegas!
I see the specialist on Monday, so touch wood things will be okay!
I have had a bladder infection, so this is a weight not just off my prostate but off my mind!
I have also had some blood and urine tests today, so hopefully they will give a greater level of detail as to what is going on down there.
