Hep C and digital stimulation -- PLEASE HELP! ANY INFO ON THIS?

Hi, I recently visited a long-time friend turned lover interest for 4 days out of state. During the time there I noticed he had psoriasis. He was scratching his head and a couple times I saw him pick his scalp! When I was there we had sex twice and then a couple times digital sex (fingering) where he scraped his sharp nails against my vaginal walls! It hurt at the time, but it seemed like an accident. I am so freaked out I can't tell you. I also started spotting on the last day of my trip. I also found him to drink heavily to the point of him finishing almost a whole bottle of vodka! He also snorted some coke with friends when we were out. Who knows what else he's been doing in the past years?

Nevertheless, the trip was a HUGE mistake and I fear I gave myself hep c through this guy. I'm afraid of the unprotected sex and the picking of his skin/scalp that he could transmit HEP C to me from his nails. PLEASE HELP! I am also going in for a test this week. I want him to get tested, but since he hasn't had insurance for years, works as a bartender, who knows what he has? He's bi-curious and a few months ago been with one man. I also cannot believe I had sex with this guy unprotected twice even though I have had protected sex EVERY time for the past few years. I just started to think about my HUGE mistakes and the risks. Then I read about HEP c and I start to get extremely concerned.

p.s. Scary thing ALSO happened to me 4 years ago with an ex b/f. He found out during our dating that he had Hep C. We had unprotected sex for months and I was tested fine after that -- even had a couple of tests the next 2 years just to be sure. But, this time, I'M FREAKING OUT! Any help would be so appreciated.

I would be very surprised if this was a risk for hepatitis C. Nevertheless, get tested anyway. It is just a good idea for anyone.

Good luck,

thanbey

Re: Hep C and Psoriasis risk -- HELP!

Actually, I am concerned about the fact that he was picking his dry patches (especially on his scalp) that were red and bleeding from picking! Then he inserting his fingers inside my vagina, even scratching me inside by accident! This is what I'm so worried about! And the fact that this guy I don't think ever went in for a HEP C test. He has done coke many times in the past and drinks heavily and is bi-sexual. THESE ARE THE RISKS I'M TALKING ABOUT!

Get tested. It is a good idea for anyone who is concerned about possible exposure. Further, it is a good idea for anyone, period.

You're concern has been expressed very clearly. There are numerous past discussions about sexual transmission and risk factors if you are interested in a more thorough discussion on those issues. (check the archives)

It appears to me that you have identified this fellow as high risk for having hepatiis C. Well, he may be a high risk for other diseases as well. My advice to you is to see your doctor and to be tested for all STD's and for hepatitis C.

Using condoms decreases risk of aquiring diseases when you are not familiar with your sexual parner's medical history (and when you are, for that matter)

I hope this helps,

thanbey

What you have may or may not be psoriasis. Look through "thanbey responds" on the website below my name (copy and paste into your browser) for skin problem suggestions.

I hope this helps,

thanbey
