Re: Psoriasis Roll Call
Well if you have psoriasis, unfortunately there is no medicine that will "cure" it. The best thing to treat psoriasis is Diet. Psoriasis is heredatory, and is not contagious. As for going to tanning beds, that will not hurt. In fact, UVB rays are very helpful for psoriasis. Unfortunately tanning beds consist of mainly UVA rays, so the best way to get UVB rays is to be out in the sun. I have Guttate Psoriasis and it has done wonders for me. My form of psoriasis is caused mainly by my non-stop strep throat infections I've been having, and I'm having my tonsils out soon, so there is a good chance my Psoriasis outbreaks may stop.
But remember, DIET!!! Flax seeds and flax seed oil are very good for psoriasis, get a lot of Omega 3's also.....eat fish or I take 2 teaspoons of Cod Liver oil a day. Take lots of vitamins....vitamin a and e are good for the skin....also Biotin assists in skin healing.
I know a TON about psoriasis and treating it, so if anyone has any questions, let me know!
Also, if you are looking for a good prescription topical steroid, OLUX foam is what I was prescribed and it works great-very spendy, but makes all my spots go away within 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. So maybe mention that to your dermatologist....
