| Re: Does allergy season trigger PS flareups?
I don't have psoriasis, but I do have eczema. In recent years I've gotten much better about avoiding contact triggers, so almost all my eczema issues seem to result from pollen exposure. I mean, there's no doubt about it. I'll be outside, eyes itching, nose running, chest tight, and then all of a sudden hives start popping up on my face, and the skin behind my ears is rough.
The only things that seem to help are:
1) Daily antihistamines! If your antihistamine isn't cutting it, consider a stronger one. I find Zyrtec or its prescription cousin hydroxyzine to be best for skin.
2) I try to keep covered (no short shorts) during peak pollen. When I come in from outside, I wash my face with cool water.
