Question Is this bad?

I know this sounds gross but have no one to ask, i have Psoriasis on my head for about 20 years, and I pick it and make my head bleed, then do it again the next night. I waste like 3 hours every night doing this. I know it is probably weird, but want to know if this is bad for me or weird or ?? Thank you!

Re: Is this bad?

Hi, I don't really know the answer for you. Just wondering, do you have any form of OCD? I'm not saying you do, but I know that I can't leave some things alone and I do have OCD.

I don't know too much about psoriasis--It is a new diagnosis for me. I have it of the nails and I also have eczema.

Do you pick at it because of the itching alone, or do you feel compelled to keep doing it for awhile?

Sorry I am not much help, just wanted you to know there was someone out here listening.

Re: Is this bad?

You really need to stop picking at it, it will just make it worse. I also have it in my scalp and I know how hard it is NOTto run your fingers through your hair and NOT try to remove the plaques, but you need to stop. There is an oil you can get from the doc, it's called Dermasmooth. It's an oil and you apply it 2-3x a week in the evening after showering. After just 2 weeks, it will greatly improve your scalp. You will have to wear a shower cap at night, or you'll have the oil all over your bedding. After you get it under control, you can use it 1-2x a week. It washes out pretty good in the morning...and if you have dry hair, it helps with that too. AND, it will also keep you from digging at your scalp because you'll have a cap on and the oil will be very very very messy on your hands...so you wont want to do that anymore.

Digging at your scalp will make it worse. When I have a break in my skin (scratch or cut) within a week I have a psoriasis pop up at that exact spot. Sometimes it will go away, but sometimes it doesnt. Ask the doc for Dermasmooth, it will make a huge difference.
