First Outbreak at 61?
For several months, I've had six red spots - quarter to half inch in diameter -on my leg. My dermatologist said it looks like psoriasis, but could be another rash. He prescribed clobetasol propionate cream, twice daily, and said to return in three weeks.
It's been two weeks. The spots went from red to pink, and there is a white circle around the spots where the cream lightened my skin. I go back Oct. 15, and he said he may do a biopsy to "see what's going on" altho he does NOT suspect cancer. I am 61 years old, and have read that most people have their first occurance of psoriasis in their 20's on the average!
Question #1: has anyone gotten psoriasis at my age? Question #2: Has anyone started with just six small spots, and then have it grow to be many more, or larger spots? Question #3: Would a skin biopsy tell me for certain what this is? I really hope someone responds, I feel so alone with this.
