Psoriasis

Hello all

I am looking for anything that might help clear up psoriasis. I get these "flare-ups" only in the winter and they look terrible. I have small red areas about the size of pencil erasers on my upper arms and now on my upper legs. I have an appt. with a dermatologist but it isn't for another 3 weeks. I was just wondering if anybody else experiences this and what can be done for it. Thanks

Hey--
If you can get in a tanning bed, it should help it until you get to the Dr.

Thanks for the reply Leslee!

I have been told by a few people that tanning beds will actually help psoriasis. Have you tried this? How often does a person have to go?

I've had psoriasis for about 20 years. Have tried numerous meds, ointments, etc. Nothing worked. Then I decided to go to a tanning salon (not for the psoriasis) and it's cleared everything up. It's been in remission for almost 2 years now. Not saying it will work for everyone, but you could give it a try. Best wishes.

Hi there,

i've had psoriasis on elbow's, scalp and thigh's. as an overall moisturiser, I use Cetaphil cream. It work's for me. It has sweet almond oil and vit E in the ingredient's. Put it on after you get out of the shower and then again before you got to bed...you might be pleasantly surprized..no more itching. Also, I have done tanning bed's in the past and found this to work as well. I alsi use solar oil for my finger nail's..which also has sweet almong oil...on advise given by the MARTY.

let me know if it work's...
