frustration with date rape - Rape / Sexual Abuse Message Board

Ok I dont' really know if this has anything to do with anything at all. But this has been something that has plain out disgusted me, and frustrated me to the point to where I need someones opinion. Ive been a victim of date rape, I have known many friends that have also. I was looking at the internet for sites about more info on date rape. Date rape is not something pretty, its not someting that should be messed around with in a purley sexual manner. These date rape sites that I have been searching for are not what one would usually expect to see. I've tried to look up so much information and all I seem to pull up is erotic websites about peoples fantasys on date rape, and its morally wrong. When I go onto the interent to find some information about something, I do not want to constantly see websites with sexually explicit material! Especially on a matter such as this. It is purley disgusting, and as a victim it degrades me. It brings back the terrible memories i have learned to accept. Searching databases seem to bring up these websites, only a few have acutally had purly factual evidence of date rape, and information. this is an issue of mine and I would love other peoples opinions on this matter. Trying to find more information about it is making the matter worse, because of the material that is posted. What if children got a hold of these websites? I do'nt mean to sound calace but this issue is really bugging me and I really hope someone can help. I understand that in web search databases most things will pop up with porn sites but date rape? tat is disgusting. -chrys

I agree that there are some down right sick individuals out there in regard to this issue- but there are legitimate support groups out there to help you. Have you told anyone? Did you have yourself checked out by a Dr? Chances are if you are young, that you are suffering with this by yourself. You need to seek help- call your local Planned Parenthood, they will be able to direct you to a support group for victims of this type of crime.

I hope that you are OK and that you will seek counseling to know that this is not your fault- and that you are a victim here. Please seek out the support group.

You can seek outside opinions with supports groups in your local community or clinics.

I agree with you completely. It is horrible to think what is out there for our children to see. Most importantly, I hope you are okay. No person should ever have to go through what you have. You have been a victim of violence no matter what. You need to find someone to talk to that understands what you have been through and can help you deal with it, if that's possible. I cannot possibly imagine the huge violation inflicted upon you. I also hope that you reported this to the proper authorities, not that I am a great believer in fair justice, but I hold on to the hope that it works for some. I will say a prayer for you. Take care of yourself and please find a person to go talk to. I am worried about you.

This happend a couple of years ago, im 19 but yes i did bring it to the proper authroities, I have a restraining order against him I haven't seen him since. It was a big mess. but im happy it is taken care of. I know that there are support groups out there, and i have talked to many of them. I was just expressing my concerns about the websites. Yes i know people enjoy things like that its just frustrating and degrading to me, when one goes online to find out more information, I wanan help people and how can i help people if i mostly find sites about fantasys on it? Thankyou all for youra dvice it really means a lot to me that people care. Sometimes it doesn't feel like anyone is there. Its hard but I deal with it, my way of still relieving it is by helping others that have been through it. You are all wonderful thankyou so much
