| Transverse Mylelitis in 9 Month Old Nephew
Hi,
My nephew was fine up until Tuesday morning (walking along furniture even). By Tuesday afternoon he was paralyzed from the neck down. He is being fed through a feeding tube but breathing on his own. He was first diagnosed with ADEM, but they are now saying TM. My sister is trying to contact Dr. Kerr at John Hopkins. Has anyone had any experience with this? Please let me know.
UPDATE...It has now been 4 week and he was moved to a ventilator last week. He can only remain on the for 1 more week, and then he will have to be trached. They are giving him massive steroids and IVIG once aweek. They are also send all MRI copie and case summaries to John Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic. Please let me know if any of you have experienced this.
Vicky
