success story of woman with pectus excavatum....funnel chest
I posted about three years back about being a woman with moderate pectus excavatum (funnel chest, chest caved in). I am now 30 years old and I thought I would post an update of what I decided to do to correct PE. I wanted to share my story with all of the other women out there who may be dealing with the same issue because there is not a lot of information or success stories I've found.
I ended up getting breast implants to correct it about two years ago. I have to be honest it was the best decision I ever made. The implants which were different sizes to correct my breast asymmetry due to the pectus are small and look very natural. I was so worried about getting implants b/c I thought they would look fake...but they surprisingly look very real...I think b/c I did not go that large. I had an unbelievable surgeon who did lots of reconstructive work and she was a woman which helped as well. Up until this point I had always been self-conscious around males because of my chest but the surgery helped to make me feel "normal." I also have to say I do some pectus exercises which I saw on the internet...especially doing push ups which has really helped build my upper chest muscles. Anyways I hope this reaches some other women out there who may be struggling with what they should do. Feel free to post on here if you'd like any more information. I know how hard this can be to deal with.
