Hi, I'm Anna, 37 years old, just had my thyroid out on 9/4/07 and it was shipped to the Mayo Clinic as the pathologist could not decipher the type of cancer I had, turned out to be hurthle cell. Just hear for support, to support others and get as much info as I can. I have read that recurrence of it is incurable. The surgeon that did my surgery says that a neck dissection is unnecessary.
Has anyone here just had their thyroid out but had no dissection done as well?
Also, of course no RAI
I wish it would work for it, I've heard the horror stories, but would be more than happy to take something that would kill off anything microscopic.
