my son in law died and the diagnosis of viral myocarditis as the cause of death was recieved because of a tryptase level of 33.4 ng/ml in the bile, I have spent hours on the internet trying to find some reference to this and can't. can someone help?
What exactly is your question? I am happy to tell you about mastocytosis if that is what you are looking for....Masto has many, many more symptoms than just elevated tryptase, though, and 33 would only be considered elevated but masto people can have much higher levels.
thats just it he had no symptoms, on Sunday he played a full game of basketball, along with the normal Sunday activites =Church, dinner out, worked on his antique vehicle, and then the game, Monday and Tuesday he worked as usual no symptons, then wednesday he had rotator cuff surgery and died 20 hours later, in the hospital asleep and snoring. I had a sister which had viral myocarditis, with no lasting illness with it, but she had a lot of symptons during the original onset. I am trying to help my grandsons to understand , and it is hard when I don't.

Hi Lilyan! What are some of the symptoms of mastocytosis? I've been going to an allergist for over a year now, suffering with hives that sometimes leave bruises(at least they look like them)--sort of dark spots--and they keep calling it "chronic urticaria". I really don't know that much about it and would love some info. Thanks so much! Hopeto--
You had mentioned there are few hospitals that can perform accurate tests for Mastocytosis. I believe you said the Mayo Clinic, NIH and a hosptial in Michigan. Do you know where I can find a complete list of hospitals?
