Neck and chest pain
I have been having excruciating anterior neck and chest pain with shortness of breath for about 5 months. The pain feels like it starts in the roof of my mouth and goes down to my mid-chest. It is sharp, stabbing, and crushing.
I had a severe upper respiratory infection where I had severe ear pain and lost my voice in January right before all of this pain began. I was given Zithromax for the infection. I have seen numerous specialists, including an orthopedist, rheumatologist, neurologist, ENT, pulmonologist, dentist, oral surgeon, gastroenterologist, pain management specialist, physiatrist. I have had numerous diagnostic tests, including labs, EKGs, x-rays, echocardiogram, EGD, CT scan of my neck and chest, MRI of my neck and C-spine, barium swallow, PFTs. The only abnormal tests that I have had is a small lipoma on my left mandible and abnormal PFTS, in which I had slightly reduced FEV1 and muscles pressures and a flattened flow loop. I have tried multiple medications, including Donnatol elixir, Pamine Forte, Carafate, Valium, Flexeril, Skelaxin, Lyrica, Voltaren, Medrol dose pack, as well as 2 months of physical therapy with no success.
I used to be very athletic and active. I am only 25 years old. The doctors keep telling me they are stumped. I feel like I can't live this like this. Please help!
