| Compartment Syndrome - issues after surgery
Anyone here had surgery to correct compartment syndrome? I had it last year - nearly 18 months ago - and am having some issues. While I can now walk and run without pain, the pain now comes in the form of horrible leg cramps at night that I never had before. They are more painful than the CCS, though they come in varying degrees.
It's really strange the way it happens. First one leg starts with a little cramp that just gets worse and worse and worse. They go from my shin all the way down into my ankle and foot and lasts about 5 to 10 minutes (unlike a regular charlie horse that can usually be "walked off"). About 20 minutes later, the other leg will cramp. This didn't happen before the surgery and I have been making sure to stay hydrated and make sure I have enough potassium and now, I'm hearing magnesium, so I added that.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the matter. My doctor has pretty much blown it off.
