xxxy syndrome, job syndrome(hyper ige) and hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia
my son was born with xxxy syndrome which is 2 extra female chromosomes but he is all boy.. he was recently diagnosed with job syndrome (hyper ige syndrome) and hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia.. he came to live with us when he was 6 months old and we adopted him in 2006 he's almost 4 years old now..how is it possible for him to have 3 rare disorders?? anyone have any of these syndromes or conditions that could make me feel like i Dont have such an abnormal situation..just looking for support mainly for him

Amy, I don't know anyone with these disorders, but I have a hypothesis for you. Since many rare disorders are x-linked (on the x chromosome), your son ended up having 3x the chance of receiving an x-linked disease. Do you know if the other conditions are x-linked or not?

I hope you find some answers

i know that hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia is x-linked and autosomal recessive
and job syndrome is autosomal recessive disorder so id Ectodermal dysplasia so i guess there is a link. i didnt think of it like that thanks
