Exclamation Can Hydrogen Peroxide cause Vitiligo?

Hello everyone I am not sure if what I am doing is safe or healty for my skin. If you guys could read thought this and leave your opinions I would appreciate it a lot thanks..

So I am indian and have naturally dark skin. I have always wanted to have lighter skin and tried many products from companies like Olay and Ambi that claimed to lighten skin ( I also tried hydroquinone), but nothing worked. Then I decided that I would try Hydrogen Peroxide 3% (from Walgreens) and applied to my face and body overnight. The next morning I noticed that my skin was I little but lighter and I have continued applying hydrogen peroxide since then (for the past 8 days) and my skin is becoming lighter and I am thrilled with the visible results. But just today I realized that this could be doing harm to my skin and I cannot see it. I have been doing some research and I am not sure whether it is possible for hydrogen peroxide to cause vitiligo as I have read that in people that have vitiligo it is quite common for there to be an abundance of hydrogen peroxide in the pigment-less skin. I have also read that vitiligo occurs when the melanocytes don't function or die. So Can Hydrogen Peroxide cause any harm of the melannocytes and/or can hydrogen peroxide damage my skin in a way that would result in a uneven skin tone?
