Do they get painful too? Is there anyone in your family who has this problem? Has anyone ever investigated you for a condition called relapsing polychondritis?

It could also be an allergy perhaps, to food or maybe even your shampoo. Does it happen under stress, or when you've come in from the cold or any certain time that you could pin point the cause?
