| Any ideas? undiagnosed for 3 years, spasmodic, chest infection/fatigue
My husband has had undiagnosed condition for 3 years: periods of debilitating fatigue, breathlessness, coughing. Similar to a chest infection. Comes and goes; a 'bad' phase will last a few days, be followed by a few 'so so' days and then can be entirely OK for short periods. Then the problem returns.
He has been on various antibiotics which control to some extent but don't cure. When he ceases taking them, symptoms return worse and ongoing. GPs out of ideas. Heart and chest specialists seen. Scans and Xrays taken with nil results. Repeatedly told this is not ME. Referred to Infectious Diseases specialist but enormous waiting times; hugely frustrating.
Anyone else going through a similar thing or has found an answer?
