I would greatly appreciate if anyone can shed some insight to my problem. Back in December and January, I developed a cerebrospinal fluid leak (csf), for no apprarent reason. They are almost always the result of head injuries but this occured spontaneously. The leak came out of my left nostril for about 3 weeks, stopped, and started up again. A month after the leak stopped I started hearing this incredibly loud thud in my ear that only occurs when I am on the verge of dowsing off at night. It only happens when I am laying down and I can feel like a slight drainage in my throat,- by morning my throat is sore. They have ruled out tinnitus because I only hear the sound right when I am about to fall asleep and because of the drainage. I have been experiencing this for 5 months and all the specialists (i've been to many, ENT's, neurologist, neurosurgeons, etc.) and everyone is stumped. I get very little sleep and this is driving me crazy. I have had 5 cat scans and MRI's. Please if you have any thoughts or insights let me know. Thanks, Rita
