Exclamation Red Spots of GF's Legs???

Every once in a while, my girlfriend get these red spots on her legs. They are very tender to the touch (painful for her) and when you touch them outside the skin, they feel very firm like a bump underneath the skin. She's been to various doctors and hospitals and no one can tell her what's wrong. They all say the same thing, "if it doesn't go away, come back." It always goes away, but it always re-occurs. Could someone please let me know what this may be? Pictures can be found at:

Re: Red Spots of GF's Legs???

I'm Pretty Sure What Your Girlfriend Is Experiencing Is Erythema Nodosum. I Recently Recovered After 3 1/2 Painful Months Of This Disorder. Apparently It Can Be Caused By Medication Allergy, Tb, The Flu Virus, And A Several Other Conditions. It Started Out With Mild Foot Pain, And Then Some Mild Foot And Ankle Swelling. To The Painful Red Bumps Under The Skin And Severe Severe Foot Pain. Eventyally After 3 1/2 Months The Swelling Subsided And The Pain Went Away.

Re: Red Spots of GF's Legs???

Well, I finally found someone else with this disease. Thought it was mine alone. Sorry I couldn't open your pics, Jason. But I agree with DCLARK. Sure sounds like Erythema Nodosum. She needs to find a good rheumotologist to take blood test, etc. It's an autoimmune disease. She might need some meds to help her with it. Mine went into remission for about 20 yrs., then came back. It can be painful and can make her tried. It can flare if I become stressful or overworked. I also noticed I have a reaction from chicken..wierd but I proved it. (I found that out online from a microbiologist.) Hope this helps.
