I've been twitching for 7 months. I've had an emg/ncv all was fine. My neurologist said we have hyper-active nervous systems for whatever reasons.. virus,stress, anxiety, thyroid problems. Some doc's believe it's some sort of virus that may hang around a long time, maybe forever..somewhat like herpes.
I don't know what triggered mine. I was feeling great when it first started. Although my thyroid keeps switching from hypo to hyper.
Have you been diagnosed with Benign fasciculation syndrome?? (BFS) This is the diagnosis I have.

edited to add~I take xanax on really bad twitching days and decided to try lexapro for it also.
