Biollroth II operation anyone had this procedure
Hello everyone, About 3 years ago my significant other had a doudenal ulcer that healed with scar tissue blocking the stomach from emptying. They did emergency surgery and removed 1/3 of her stomach because it hat expanded twice the normal size. The removed the duodenum and created a hole in the bottom of her stomach directly into intestines. At the time of surgery she weighed 130lbs. Since operation she has dumpiong syndrome and cannot absorb nutrients from food, Her pancrease is also dissconected from digestive tract and she has to take an enzyme that the pancrease produces every time she eats, even 1 cracker or else she has excruciating pain, she takes reglan 1/2 hr before meals. She also suffers from cronic pain from ddd and her long acting meds go through her before they get a chance to work, 9 months ago she was down to 94lbs and today has worked up to 98lbs by force eating anything fattening, I constantly keep donuts and icecream in house. Can anyone else relate to this and give us any suggestions on weight gain that she so desperately needs, This has led her to have a very negative self image also, can anyone out there relate or help us thanks and God Bless
