I agree..dermatology IS a very complicated field of medicine, and the thing that bugs me is the fact that, a lot of dermatologists turn their practices in to one that is mostly cosmetic in nature. Skin lesions are often a window in to what's going on in the body. The thing is, it is VERY hard to diagnose skin problems without seeing them. You can describe them all you want over the 'net, but it's must easier if there's a picture.
Question: if you scratch the lesions you have, do they bleed?
I'm wondering if what you have is lichen planus. Did the dermo mention that? How about a variation of psoriasis?
