| Retching/Dry heaves
Hi Everyone,
I've been going through the different threads on this subject and found that there is very little activity (understandably) about this condition with most discussions having been closed years ago.
I just wanted to relaunch this to see if anyone has anything new to share. This is my background:
I've been suffering from this for almost 30 years now (I'm now 42), going through different phases. At the beginning, it would be so bad that I could not even have breakfast as it would be most severe in the morning. Having anything slightly tight round my neck like a tie would also trigger it. Exercising was almost impossible. Over the years, it has improved siginificantly. I can now have breakfast normally and wear a tie 99% of the time. It does come back when I'm going through stressful periods. One thing that has never improved though, is the inability to have a normal visit to the dentist. Having anything inserted in my mouth for a prolonged amount of time will trigger violent retching, making dental work almost impossible. As a result my dental conditions have deteriorated to a point where I have lost a few teeth. I'm trying to confront this head on with help from some understanding dentist and the use of relaxing gas like Nitrous oxide. However, for more complicated procedures, I will need to go for sedation but even then, my worry is that will not be enough.
I was just wondering if there were anyone else who had similar experience to share and how they deal with it.
Thanks a lot.
