Accidentally injected insulin into scrotum

I changed from Novolog pens to Lantus for my Type 2 Diabetes recently and while I was familiarizing myself with the syringe my dogs were romping through the room and playfully knocked a bottle against my hand and I accidentally injected some of the insulin into my scrotum. Luckily, I did not hit my testicles and there was no pain, but now, two days later, my scrotum has turned purple (with a little red coloring in one place) at the bottom and front. It seems to be clearing up, but I can't say for certain. Is this something that will go away soon and I should simply remain patient. Should I be concerned or just ignore it unless it becomes infected? What do you recommend?
