| Typicial Symptoms of Raynauds
I was diagnosed with Raynauds a few months ago, when I went to the doctor about a injured toe nail, and my feet turned blue in front of the doctor. Doctor wasn't that concerned about it, so never really though more about it as it wasn't brother me much exempt my finger broke open for a bout two weeks. but in the last two months it has move into one of my hands, and the last few weeks, I have been getting attacks in feet and 1 hands while sitting at my desk at work, and in the last week anytime I pick up a cold drink my finger turn blue and have a cramping feeling in my hand. I live in the Southern Hemisphere, so we are just coming out of winter
Are the following typical symptoms
-Affecting one hand and progressing to the hands
-Having attacks when it not even cold
-having cramps in hand - like writing cramps when you have written a exam, but I have not even written a full sentence
-Three fingers & a toe staying red with a purple color ar the knuckles, they have not returned to a normal color for about 2 months
-dry red lines across the knuckles on the palm side
-Having attacks in your toes, but you only notice the attack because of the color change, and feel nothing in the toes.
-Used to have great cold tolerance, could go swimming in the middle of winter, and wear short sleeves, but now everyone is hot but I am freezing cold, with a sweater and jacket on.
-having really pale nails with no pink color to them at all
I have been to doctor surgery, and saw another doctor, who have never heard of Raynauds, and have referred me to a dermatologist, is this the right specialist to see about this condition.

Reynaulds, is a vascular problem having to do with circulation. A dermatolgist is not the right specialist, you should see a Podiatrist (foot doctor) or Vascular specialst.
Reynaulds usually causes numbness and tingling and the area turns white. I have never turned blue and I have Reynaulds; although anything is possible I guess.
I use a vascular doctor for my diagnosis.
Good luck!

I have it in my feet and hands. Although my feet are the worst. They turn white and it is blotchy. Then my feet turn red. I go to a rheumatologist. My reynauld's is secondary to lupus.

I too have Reynaulds secondary to Multiple Sclerosis. I see my neurologist but also consult with a vascular doctor...my feet go completely white...never blue.
It can happen in the middle of the summer, although usually it is coolness which brings it on. Sometimes the air conditioning is enough to bring it on.
I no longer wear sandals...even in the summer!

I would see a rheumatology Dr to evaluate. You might take some pictures of the color changes to show Dr, since the symptoms are transient. It can be treated if uncomfortable. I am on amlodipine, and it has helped me a lot.
