Has anyone participated in "coma therapy"?

Hello,

After six years with RSD, the doctor is recommending ketamine infusion therapy, also called "coma therapy". I am wondering if any one has undergone this therapy and, if so, would you be willing to share your personal experiences?

Thank you for any help you can offer.
Lucy

I am not familiar with this procedure and how it actually works, but I have been reading up about hyperberic chambers. I would love to do this because it has a high percentage rate of remission, but I am claustrophobic. Has anyone tried to avenue before? Would be interesting to find out. Ben

Claire, I believe the woman you're referring to is Kate. She gets the ketamine treatments, but the ones she gets is called the "awake" therapy. She is not put into a coma. That whole idea really scares me, but what do I know? Anyway, Kate is having another ketamine treatment right now after having had her fourth child so we'll find out soon how she did. She got progressively better results with each infusion.

Lucy, ask your doc about this technique and good luck to you.

Sharon

I believe the awake therapy is done in the United States. Some people go to Germany to get the coma therapy. Regards, Lil

Re: Has anyone participated in "coma therapy"?

Thank you to cblasingame, Scrufysdad, sharon 1030, and DiamondLil.

I truly thank all of you who have replied to my question about coma therapy. Every little bit of information helps so much.

To Scrufysdad: I had not heard of a hyperberic chamber procedure, but now I will also try to learn about that option.

Thank you again.

Lucy
